The 70 year old Center Theater on Fort Mill’s Main Street will soon be redeveloped into a mixed-use building by Kuester Commercial Real Estate. Talk of the Town Fort Mill host interviewed Kuester Associate Developer Chis Mannix and building owner Chip Smith to find out more about the revitalization project during the Loom Media and the Mill event.
The Old Center Theater opened in 1947 and closed in the 1970s. 3 fires caused significant damage to part of the building. Construction is planned to begin soon to the portion of the building that opens to Academy Street which will include about 6,300 square feet of loft-style offices. The Main Street part of the building will become retail and restaurant space totaling almost 7,000 square feet, including patio space.
