The Fort Mill Care Center has been assisting local families in need since 1967. Two major milestones have occurred in the last year and a half at the Care Center. In August 2015, the Care Center moved into their newly purchased and renovated building at 2760 Old Nation Rd. Coming in Late January of 2017, they plan to move into their newly constructed food pantry storage facility.
Work on the expansion food pantry building began in October 2016, in which the 2,000 square foot building is next door to the current facility. The new onsite storage space will allow the Care Center to move offsite stored food to their main facility. The newly owned location and new storage building were made possible by Legacy of Caring committee and campaign. The committee raised money through donors, fundraisers including golf tournaments, and more.
Talk of the Town host Patti mercer interviewed The Care Center’s Director Carol Higgins, President Diana Bernard, and Food Pantry VP Jeane Cassidy to get the inside scoop on what the Care Center does and what the new space will mean to local families in need of care and assistance.
The Fort Mill care Center is a 100% volunteer run non-profit organization that provides assistance with food, fuel, power, heat, and medicine to the citizens of Fort Mill, and Tega Cay, SC.
