Hi everyone! Remember our buyers Lynsie and Bray? Well they’re the sweet couple building in the M/I Homes community of Hawk’s Creek and I wanted to check in them to see how things were going. In late February, they had their pre-construction orientation where they sat down with their builder Sharee to go over all their selections and make sure they had a greater understanding of what to expect next. Building new construction involves many moving parts and it’s great to make sure everyone is on the same page from the start!
One of the perks of being their realtor is they are building right in my neighborhood, allowing me to sneak pics to them. The progress in one month’s time is astounding and it always seems to happen so fast, but once the framing is up and the roof is on, it does start to slow down some as major systems like electrical and HVAC start being installed.
I was able to catch up with Lynsie and ask her how she was feeling about everything so far:
1). How does it feel to see the framing go up on your dream home?
We are both feeling super exciting to watch this all happening so fast! We have been going out once a week to see the progress but feel like that won’t be enough anymore after seeing the picture you sent us yesterday with progress of the framing!
2). You ended up deciding to do phase inspections during your build. Why did you decide to do them?
We’ve heard about so many new neighborhoods going through development in the Fort Mill area that we decided that we wanted a finer attention to detail while building our home.
3). You recently had your pre-construction meeting with M/I Homes…did this help give you a better sense of what to expect?
Yes – even though Selena did a great job of explaining it initially it was good to go back over everything and meet with everyone that will be involved with the process and get our hard hats! We both felt comfortable with the process after we left the meeting.
4). Have you been posting on Pinterest and what are some design options you’re thinking of?
Good ol Pintrest! I don’t know if this actually helps me or makes it more confusing! If that makes sense. So many things to look at and decide on that it can be overwhelming. I have done some pinning and I have been going back and forth on couch options for the living room and furniture for the
bedroom. Originally I thought I wanted a sectional but now leaning towards two couches and chairs. For the bedroom furniture I’m trying to decide on white furniture or more of a rustic look. Hopefully I will make some final decisions soon! I have picked out a vanity stool for the bathroom (ill attach a pic)! We’ve also picked out our washer and dryer along with the fridge. Its been a slow process but I’m wanting to wait until the floors and counter tops are in before doing any major purchases. I also have my eye on a few area rugs!
I am certainly lucky to have them as my clients and I can’t wait to check back in very soon!
