How about seeing a revolutionary war or civil war reenactment right in your back yard sort of speak? The Fort Mill History Museum is hosting a Fort Mill History Day Celebration in Walter Elisha Park the weekend of April 12, 2014. Below is the Museum’s press release about the event:

FORT MILL HISTORY DAY CELEBRATION
Saturday April 12 through Sunday April 13
From 10a.m. to 2p.m.
Travel through Fort Mill’s history on a time-line trail through Walter Y. Elisha Park. Experience
the sights and sounds of Revolutionary War General Thomas Sumter’s encampment recreated by
The New Acquisition Militia, and a Civil War encampment reenacted by the 6th South Carolina
Volunteers. See what camp life was like for a World War I soldier, and soldiers of World
A special attraction for the event will be the exhibition of the H.L. Hunley replica. The Hunley,
a Confederate Civil War submarine, was the first submarine to sink an enemy warship and has
been the subject of many television specials.
Enjoy a day of history with children’s games, food and lifeway demonstrations.
