The 4th of July is always special but seems to be more so in small communities like Tega Cay. Reading your post reminded me of the 4th of July celebrations I enjoyed in a small town in south central Missouri for many years as a younger man.
I guess it is different when you know or recognize many people in the parade or at the fire works display. Or the pride that swells when you are related to one of the Veterans smartly matching in step with “Old Glory”. It would be difficult for folks that have never been a part of a small town to understand just how special Independence Day really is in “Small Town USA”.
