Fort Mill Schools Seeking Bond Approval To Handle Increased Population Growth
The Fort Mill school district wants you to approve a bond referendum on March 4th 2008. The school district is experiencing growing pains with the areas increased development and population growth. The district estimated its school population increased 11% in 2007 from the previous year.
There are two bonds referendums or questions on the ballot. One bond is for building a middle school, 2 elementary schools, and acquiring land for future school sites. The cost of bond 1 is $87 million. The second bond will enable the addition of classroom gyms at both high schools, and the completion of a stadium at Nation Ford High School.
