The Indian Land Store on highway 521 is set to open on the same day. Publix also announced it will build and open their first North Carolina location in the Greater Charlotte, area located at Providence Road West and Johnston Road in Ballantyne. The store will be part of a new division based in Charlotte. Expected open date is Fall 2014.
The new Fort Mill Publix location seems to have mixed reaction as residents near the site initially fought the shopping center development …see 2010 Publix is coming post. Many of you have commented on a newer post and voiced your positive support for the new grocery chain in our area. One commenter said ..”Just came back from vacationing in Pompano Beach, Fl. We went to a new Publix there and I saw this section with prepared dinners (steak, cheese & garnish), it was delicious and saved us a lot of money.”
